| Darjeeling offers glory of natures at its best and its changing faces in different seasons. Even if one merely sticks to the best method of getting about it in the hill walking, it can be a very rewarding experience. The famous Sun Rise from Tiger hill is worth visiting early in the morning when the sky is clear, the view Mt. Khangchendzonga is clearer from here than any other places. For the more adventurous there are treks ranging from a few hours to a few weeks. The Darjeeling region has the distinction of offering a breathtaking view of four of over 8000 metre high peaks-Everest, Khangchendzonga, Makalu and Lhotse, from one place Sandakphu. | HMI & THE ZOOLOGICAL PARK |
| The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute(HMI) and the zoo is at walk-able distance from main town and both can be visit at the same time as they shares the same entrance. The (HMI) houses exhibits from many climbing expeditions, and specimens of flora and fauna. It also contains a relief map of the Himalaya, It has a memorabilia of the famous mountaineer Sherpa Tenzing Norgay. The Himalayan Zoological park is famous for it’s success in breeding Red Panda (Alrus fulgene) and snow Leopard. |
