EASTERN HIMALAYAS - BHUTAN / DARJEELING & SIKKIM TOUR
DAY 01
Bagdora - Darjeeling (124 km, 5 hours):
Meet at Bagdogra airport in Siliguri, West Bengal, which is connected to Kolkotta, Delhi, Nepal, Sikkim and Darjeeling. Drive to Darjeeling queen of hill station and the former British summer capital. Evening check in to hotel and free to walk around.
DAY 02
Darjeeling Sightseeing:
Today rise early to catch a magnificent sunrise over the Himalayas. Then tour of Darjeeling including Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. Evening enjoy the local market.
DAY 03
Darjeeling - Gangtok (97 km, 5 hours):
Drive through beautiful landscape through a tea plantation and then along the beds of river Teesta arrive Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, which has an unique blend of tradition and modernity.
DAY 04
Gangtok Sightseeing:
Today visit famous Rumtek monastery, head of karmapa sect and the long awaited throne of present incarnation of 16th Karmapa. Evening take a tour around Gangtok or visit the remaining places.
DAY 05
Gangtok - Phuntsholling:
Today drive back to Phuntsholling for 7-8hours including lunch stoppage en route evening check in to a Bhutanese hotel.
DAY 06
Phuntsholling - Thimpu (167 km, 6-7 hours):
Thimpu the capital of Bhutan is one of the great experience, as one cross the hot plains to the subtropics and then the alpine forest with the unspoilt traditional villages to see on the way before reaching Thimpu.
DAY 07
Thimpu Sightseeing:
Today, explore the sights such as the Thimpu Dzong & Palace, Memorial chorten, the century old nunnery and the library.
DAY 08
Thimpu Wangdi (70 km, 3-4 hours):
Today, drive across Dachula pass at 3050m commanding a spectacular view of the Eastern Himalayas. Arrive at Wangdi and stop by the Phunakha Dzong, beautifully set at the confluence of two rivers, the Phochu and mochhu. Tonight, you will have the option of savour a great cultural experience spending the night with one of the Bhutanese farming family or in a resort near by river.
DAY 09
Wangdi Paro:
The drive from Wangdi to Paro is about 3-4hours. Paro is a beautiful valley with much choice of hotels, also the gateway to Bhutan.
DAY 10
Paro Sightseeing:
Today, 3hours hiking to Taksang monastery on the cliff of rock and the view of the entire valley from this cliff is mesmerizing. Evening back to Paro and visit the Museum.
DAY 11
Paro - Kolkotta:
Today bid farewell to Bhutan and fly back to Kolkotta and then connect your flight home.
